American TV has, and will always be the leader when it comes to television programming that's not only unsurpassed, but also unsurpassable.
One of the major factors regarding American TV that cannot go unnoticed, and definitely goes a long way in making it stand where it does today, is its versatility. This is one nation that's managed to give us the best of every imaginable genre on television, explaining the wide popularity of American TV enjoyed by it online. Right from the sitcoms, which have been practically redefined by American TV, to a whole wide range of dramas, there's no looking back once you get started with watching American TV online, or for that matter, on your TV sets.
The magnificence of American TV shows can be gauged from the fact that so many of them have gone on to become phenomenal and almost cult shows, that remain etched, not only in history but also in our minds, long after they go off air. To get into a mention of each of these shows that's managed to carve a niche for itself would be way too elaborate, and far beyond the scope of this article, but I'd definitely like to mention those few, that simply cannot go without a mention for anyone, who loves to watch American TV.
Talking of sitcoms, people love to watch shows like Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Saturday Night Live that have embellished American TV, and have gone on to become entwined with the lives of audiences, making each character come alive as though they lived next door to us. Despite the wide popularity of sitcoms, I feel that it's drama series that practically steal the show.
Of these, the undoubted winners would be medical dramas like ER, family dramas like Eight is Enough, and crime dramas like CSI. Following close by are the soap operas of the likes of Dallas, Dynasty, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Desperate Housewives, among many more. These are shows that manage to glue audiences to catch American TV online, as well as on the small screen, not only during their original runs, but also long after they go off air.
But if you're thinking that American TV is all about drama and comedy, think again! There can't be any better portrayal of reality than that that's offered by this country's television. Whether it is talk shows that give you the deepest insight into lives of people that matter, or reality shows that yet again offer you a glimpse of the real stories beneath false facades, you can watch American TV to get it all.
