Incredible performance for the price!

Performs right along side the name brand name big dogs but for a FRACTION of the cost. Great for family movie night or improving the kids gaming experience. This is an LCD unit so the pro's are: Great picture with a much lower up front cost. Unlike DLP Units, replacement Lamps wont break the bank either at just $20-$20. DLP Units are normally about $200-$300 more right from the start and you can expect to pay another $200 when the bulb burns out! Remember LCD Units perform the best in very DIM to Dark lighting conditions. If you are looking to hook up to laptop and give presentations in a lighted room or office, THIS IS NOT THE UNIT FOR YOU. You will be happier with a DLP or much more expensive 3LCD unit. Just be ready for the increased cost. But if your looking to wow the kids, friends or the neighbors with a huge crisp picture for movie or WII Night, you will love this unit! if you're not worried about warranty and product support, you cant go wrong for this price. Works great, solid hardware, good projection picture (up to 6ft wide) and acceptable sound. great for gaming. Dont much about the manufacturer, seems like a small asian knock off company.

Stops working quickly

Well, I really hate to change my review. I posted a stellar review after one week of use. It was a great little projector for cheap! Unfortunately, the latter part caught up. Projector stopped working after a few weeks of light use. Shipped it back and received a replacement... which also stopped working after a few weeks. I thought this would be a great projector for movies and games for the family, which it would be - if it worked for longer than 2.5 weeks.

This was a purchase that im happy with but not totally amazed .....this is a 720p projector its good but i would only suggest this if you just plan to use for mainly movies and tv i put in my Xbox 360 to hdmi and it was good but not amazed but it did improve my gaming experience abit i do wish it supported a higher quality ......if i can do this purchase again i would spend alittle extra for 1080p or get something DLP any questions leave a comment

Had it now for a week

Had this now for a week. I bought it because of the price and the previous reviews. My take on this item is: Pros Good price Nice extras like the hd cable, extra lamp The build in speaker will work if u do not have a sound system Cons The picture is not as crisp as I would have wanted, but I guess that I got spoiled with my LCD tv. The picture is also a little dark and if u adjust the brightness the light became to light and the shadows stay to dark. I wonder if it will be possible to install a brighter lamp, it ships with a 150w lamp. The cooling fan is loud.I thoughts on this item is, it was ok I can not say that I had buyers remorse but I did expect a better picture

Good for the price but...

I bought this project for my classroom after the bulb to replace my old projector was going to cost over $500. As a projector it works well, but I wish I had known some things about the item before I purchased it. 1) The projector is not very bright. As a result, the projection is not very sharp. This makes text fuzzy, so that everything has to be huge for my students to see it. 2) The settings on this projector do little to help the image. The manual is poorly translated from Chinese and is quite funny. So it's hard to figure out exactly what to do if you are having problems. 3) I have to start the projector twice before it will stay on. I have no clue why it needs me to do this, but I think it has something to do with the fuse that lights the bulb. I guess it has to warm up. 4) There is no zoom and if you can hang this from the ceiling you will be better off. Mine is stacked on 3 books on a cart. The screen is very low and the projector has to be close to project a big picture. I mean within 5 feet close, so if you want to use this with a SmartBoard make sure you have this mounted from the ceiling or be prepared for students to block projection when using the board.On the reverse, for the price this is a good projector for watching movies at home in a VERY dark room. I'm not unsatisfied with my purchase, but if I had it to do again, I'd probably beg for more money and get a better projector just because I'm using this for my classroom. At home, I think this projector would work great for movies and games. The extra bulb and cords are a nice touch.If you want to do some more research before you buy, search this: HD66 LCD TV Projector 1080i HDMINo where on that projector does it say Mediawise.

Cheap & poor

The main reason to purchase this device was a price (of course!). You can't find cheaper projector with the same declared options. So, after 2 weeks of using I've made my own opinion: Pros: 1. Low price 2. Extra parts (spare bulb, HDMI-cable) 3. Not bad image, with accessible brightness (in connection with this low cost), but less than typical for 1800 lm LCD-devices 4. Not noisy fan Cons: 1. Extremly bad and poor menu, impossible to adjust most of parameters, such as color balance when it connected through HDMI or RGB input (this function could be very useful, because in case of PC input it was succesfully corrected). No any color correction tables or tunings. 2.THIS DEVICE HAS NO USB AND SD SOCKETS!!! Only stopper was found instead of these plugs(do not flatter youtself). 3. Very messy and unconvient remote control without backlight (its very strange for device positioned as cinema projector). Many buttons have different functions than marked. 4. Low sensitive TV block, impossible to find channel from air antenna where regular old TV find 12 stations. Conclusions: Only keep in mind this low price I marked 2 stars.

Nice LCD projector for video games, movies and TV

Nice LCD projector for video games, movies and TV. Found the Mediawise model to have the best features for the money. Picture quality is surprisingly good even on just a plain white wall. Unlike similar models it is backed by a full one year parts and labor warranty. A free HDMI cable and extra bulb is also a nice bonus. Will provide hours of entertainment for your whole family!

Bulb was a perfecct match, worked like a charm

The bulb in my InFocus x1 projector exploded in dramatic fashion the other day and I have never before attempted to replace it. I came to Amazon hoping to find some reviews and make sure I was doing the right thing in trying to replace the bulb myself. I nearly got scared away after reading one review that said it was a waste to replace the bulb if the original one exploded. It appears as though that must have just been an isolated case for the particular unfortunate review writer. In my case, when I removed the broken bulb, i found that there was no breakage or dust outside of the bulb housing unit and after reading other reviews that had positive experiences I decided to take the plunge.The bulb arrived a much shorter time frame than I had originally anticipated, which was a very pleasant surprise. Removing and replacing the bulb was an absolute breeze, and the new bulb is working like a charm - in fact, I have Avatar playing in bright vivid colors as I type this. :)Am very pleased with the timeliness, ease of installation and quality of this bulb and would recommend it without hesitation.

I bought this replacement lamp after having to return one I bought from a site that was selling it for almost half the price. That one had incorrect wiring on the connector so would not be testable without rewiring it, and probably voiding any warranty. I dont know if that one would have worked anyways. This lamp bulb was correctly wired and worked properly out of the box. Make sure to install it as soon as you receive it as the warranty is only 30 days I believe, whether you use it or not.

Can use even if bulb burst.

A previous review warned not to use this if bulb burst. This is not correct. I waited to install this second bulb before writing this (this is the second one to burst due to the over 3000 hours used). I removed the old burst bulb and saw that the damage was contained within the bulb housing. Just to insure the best image, I carefully cleaned the color wheel with a damp qtip and rotated it to get it clean. The new bulb works good as new. My x1 projector image has never looked better. If you have any doubts it seems that the bulb can be returned as per amazon's return policy. By the way, I got my bulb from Amazon in 3 days with free shipping.

this is a sub-thousand projector. bottom line i have had one for four years and burned 2000 hours on it. Are there better projectors -- yes, but for the money, this one gets 5 stars. you need to clean the filter every 300 hours, this takes 4 minutes. just take the bulb out and get the dust off of the screen. this is very important because bulb life is depenent on keeping it cool. i have been very impressed with this unit and with the picture quality. if you look at the pic for the unit you can see the screen on the side. its like a lint collector on a clothes dryer. just open it up every 300 hours (4 months) and clean scrape off the lint. im going to do mine right now.

Get a battery backup for your projector!

This product is necessary for the use of your projector. Obviously! =) Unfortunately it is VERY $$$$$$, and the life of the lamp does not last a long time. When using projectors, the lamp needs to be cooled for a bit before completely shutting down, otherwise the life of the lamp diminishes. This was the case with the lamp that came with the projector that I purchased. It would be a good investment to purchase a computer UPS when using a projector to make sure that the lamp gets "clean" and consistent power as well as providing power in situations where you have a sudden blackout. This will give you some time to do a proper shutdown of the projector and also provide power for at least a minute or so to cool down the lamp!

You simply can't beat the performance for the price. Great everyday projector for the Kids or home use! While it might lack just slightly from the performance especially in bright conditions that "DLP" or High end LCD ($[...] or more in cost)units may deliver. The up front savings as well as the low, low replacement cost of the bulbs (about $[...] bucks in stead of the HUNDREDS a DLP replacement bulb will cost)makes it a really great choice!

As soon I received this Epson Replacement Lamp, I delivered to our technical departament which must test it right away. They contacted me after that saying that there wasn't any problem and inconveniencie with the replacement lamp. It began to warmed up and was ready to use. We found that it was great to purchase some more to have spare parts and decided to purchase 5 more. We have been ordering for the last 6 months and no problem at all. I recommend this product.

Decent Replacement Lamp

This lamp installed easy and lasted pretty long with fairly continuous use. Colors tended to fade toward the end of the lamp's life, but that's pretty commmon.
