I purchased this exact item from another site and I ordered a 5' x 9' piece of projector fabric to create a large, opaque white screen. I ordered this for my 6 year old's "Saturday Movie Matinee" Birthday party, because I wanted to do something different besides the pizza place, hamburger place, jumpy bouncey place, etc. party. We're going to set a room up like a movie theatre and play one of the new animated releases for the kids, with pop corn and movie snacks.I have read many reviews and complaints about this projector, but for what it is and for the money - it works great. We have been testing this item the past 2 nights and so far, so good. We are able to get a pretty large screen, maybe 3' x 4' and the quality is "good." I would compare the viewing quality to that of a drive-in movie. It's not going to be super crisp like your TV and the colors could be sharper, but my kids think it is awesome! We haven't even tried this with the video games yet.Also - this projector does not require total darkness, which I've seen in many other reviews. We are able to view the movie on the wall just fine at one end of our bedroom, with a lamp on at the other end. However, the darker the room, the sharper the image appears. I would also add that movies with a brighter, lighter background are easier to view, than movies with a darker background. The movie sound is really good and I don't find the projector fan sound distracting - at all. In fact, I think it kind of adds to the "movie" experience. Of note, you must have a live feed for this projector to work. You have to START the DVD for the projector to project the image onto the wall. Otherwise, you will see absolutely nothing or just a teentsy, tiny, little menu on the wall and you will be scratching your head and changing out the cables, trying to figure what's wrong. Trust me....we know!! :)

Great picture and runs well

My wife bought this as an anniversary gift. Although it is a no name product, it works very well. The picture looks great. I attached my laptop and used the HDMI port. There are a few issues getting the resolution set. But once I got it set, Avatar looked great at 46 inches. (The screen was only that wide.) All-in-all, I am very happy with the projector.

This is one of the first projectors we ever bought. The fan is so loud it is unbearable. You can barely hear the movie over the fan noise even with the volume turned all the way up!

I've had the SV-100H Projector for a couple of weeks now. I actually bought it on ebay, but the price is similar to the one on Amazon. First off, I should announce that the SV-100H is NOT a HD projector! It is HD compatible, which means that it can 'recognize' a HD signal, and play the picture. The native resolution is 800x600 and it will not actually make any image at a higher resolution than 800x600, but it will downscale higher resolutions to be played. You can notice the pixels, which does bother some people, but the pixels are not TOO bad. That being said, the image quality is GREAT for this price!! NATIVE RESOLUTION IS NOT EVERYTHING, I used to have a name brand projector with 1024x768 native resolution, and I promise you that the SV-100H has WAY better image quality! The HDMI connector counts for a lot on this baby, when you plug in the HDMI, image quality is terrific. Now, this is obviously one of those cheap Asian knock-off products, but among the cheap Asian knock-off projectors, this is probably the best. I looked into it, and most of the others are only 640x480 native resolution, while this one is 800x600. I bought this projector instead of an flat screen HDTV (in the same price range) and I made the right choice. The image quality on this projector -clearly- blows an old tube TV out of the water. The picture is not as good as a flat screen HDTV, but it's not much worse either, and for this price you can not get a HDTV bigger than 25 inches. The projector can make HUGE pictures easily. This projector is a lot of fun, you can plug just about anything in to it, and it's very light weight. I can easily stuff it into my little backpack and take it to my friends house, it plugs in with a simple power cable that a typical computer uses. The projector is very cheaply made, thin plastic, cheap parts, it's somewhat fragile, but keep in mind that you generally don't touch a projector. I personally am grateful for it being so cheaply made, because that makes it cheap to buy, I couldn't care less if it were made of wood shavings. The picture is awesome and it is very simple to use. I don't know if you can buy replacement bulbs here on Amazon, but the ebay seller 'bluefly' sells bulbs upon request for $30 which is an amazing price considering the lamp life. Other projector bulbs can sell for the price of this whole projector! In the range of $150 to $250, and they often have shorter reported lamp lifespan. I have my SV-100H projector connected via HDMI to my Playstation 3, and via AV cable to my digital TV converter, and it's so much fun to go in my room and be able to play and watch TV on my entire wall. It's got a pretty quick start up time, but is a bit slow to cool off. It is sort of a noisy projector, it's got a couple big fans in it, and they spin very hard to keep the projector cool. However, it also has an internal speaker, and that speaker can get impressively loud. I've opted to use the internal speaker for watching TV daily and am very happy with the audio.My conclusion, it's a cheap projector, it's cheaply built, but it's good where it counts. It is by no means a good projector in comparison to true HD projectors, but it is sold at a price that will make you feel proud for buying it. This is not a projector for very picky people, but for a family, your kids will flip out at being able to watch movies on the whole wall. Would be an awesome gift for teens, gamers, the image is good enough to spot far away targets in-game. I imagine it would be great for presentations. To get a name brand projector that gives you compatibility and image quality like this one, you would be looking at spending over $800Personally I am VERY happy with my purchase of this projector!!!! I'm not too picky though.EDIT: Well I've been using the projector for a little over two weeks now, about 20 hours of run time on the bulb, and the bulb just burnt out. The person I bought it from on ebay says "I would be happy to send a new bulb for free, just pay shipping. $30" When they told me the bulb itself would be $30 last time I asked. Jerks. I won't change my star rating, because I still really liked the projector..

My Husband and Kids Absolutely Love this Projector. We Are using it primarily for "Family Movie Night" and can't believe the picture! Easy to use and also very portable. We have enjoyed taking it to friends houses to share the fun! Not sure what previous rater is talking about with the fan? No problems with ours at all. This is our third projector we have had over the years and we were shocked with how great the sound quality was.

What A Let Down

I recieve this projector only a full days after purchase,that was good. It was few day later before I opened the box to look at it. I waited until put everyone to bed to try it out, good thing too. First I read the manual through and then I pick out a dvd to watch. When I turned on the projector the fan was so loud that it actually scared me. After I calmed down I put a dvd in the slot, which worked nicely just like a car cd slot. The fan was so loud that I had to closed everyones bedroom door to keep from waking them. I continued to try to watch the move but I could not enjoy it do to the noise from the fan. granted the room I was in which was the living room, is not an extra large room but I have used projector here before with no problem. There is an ear jack on this projector so I thought maybe I could drown out the sound of the fan by using my head set. That did not work and there as a buzzing noise coming from the ear jack that made it impositable to continue. Well I emailed the merchant and the subject matter I selected was "defected merchandise", because to me that just had to be the case. The merchant was very nice about it and wanted to make some enquiry and get back to me. I told them that I did not want and take the chance of being stuck with something that did not work. So I returned to projector for a full refund and because it was defective I didn't thing I should be charged a 15% restocking fee. Well the merchant contacted me an explain that he he recieved the projector and tested it by letting it run for 30min and he found no problem and said that that was the normal sound of the fan that the projector makes. And because he did not found anything wrong he would have to charge me a restocking fee because they could know longer sale it at as a new item. But he offerred to reduce the fee by half. Which is still a lot of my money. I would not have had to return it if it had work right. I do not reconmend this product since as the merchant said that the sound from the fan is the normal sound, which to me was extremely loud. He credited my account right away less 7.5% restocking fee.

excellent system, great value

I got the 2 pairs glasses pack to go with my Mitsubishi WD-6509 TV and PS3, they work like a charm together for the Avatar 3D game, which has many output options for 3D display including the checkerboard format that this TV uses. I could have bought the DLP link glasses to do the same, but they cost twice as much. I connect the emitter to the Vesa plug on the back of the TV, turn on the TV, change the TV's 3D mode to ON, start the PS3 Avatar game, change the game display option to 3D and select Checkerboard format, voila, we have unbeatable 3D play! Life has changed forever! I bought the 65" 3D ready from Amazon 6 months ago for only $989 delivered, waiting for PS3 to update and churn out new 3D games, finally we got some! Till now,PS3 system itself still doesn't support choices of 3D outputs, the game itself has to support checkerboard output for my TV to display 3D... The good news is Mitsubishi has come out with the 3-DA1 3D Adapter ($99)to overcome that, I've ordered and waiting for the adapter to arrive so I can play more 3D contents on PS3. Hope PS3 will soon update for 3D DVD play, then I'll need to buy more glasses from this seller...
