Quality mount worth the cost

Chief mounts are not the cheapest by far. But they are quality construction and are universal. The pegs that hold your projector up are very ingenious, too. You screw some posts into your projector, and then hold it up into the arms. The arms have a one-handed mechanism to secure the projector. It can be fully adjusted on all axis, although that is a bit difficult to achieve.

Fantastic Projector Mount

This mount is great. The included arms for attachment to the projector were easy to attach and very solid. The mount intself is very solid and well made. I did feel I needed to reinforce the ceiling where I placed the mount but the projector I was mounting was actually larger than my previous projector and I was concerned about the additional wt. The mount allows appropriate adjustment and holds position extremely well. I chose this mount because of Chief's reputation and the recommendation of the tech support technician I spoke with at SIM2. You will be very satisfied if you use this mount.

i install av for a living and use chief mounts exclusively. this new universal mount is definitely an improvement over the old one.

Used with Panasonic AE3000U

Mounting the AE3000U was a little tricky at first. The trouble is that if the mounting holes of the projector are too close together, the four adjustable legs can get in the way of each other, making them hard to position. (Would have been nice if the kit also included two extra short legs instead of only the four long ones.) The trick is to set the feet to the maximum height to get better clearance. Anyway, it works great and it looks like it will work for just about any projector. I went with this brand since I already had a custom (not universal) RPA mount installed for an older projector. So when I got the new projector, I only had to replace the interface plate instead of the whole mount.

This is indeed a piece of junk. The batteries don't fit tight in the case and you have to shake it to get it to work. It is not reliable. I teach college courses and constantly had to stop my class to fiddle with this thing. I threw it away. I am going to spend a little more and get a better one. You should too.

Very Very poor built product

This product is built with a plastic straw, seriously has the same weak structure. It is crap with a Class II laser diode in it. You might as well have the laser diode and some wires and a battery and do it yourself. I bought this product because I bought two green class II lasers for my sons which are made of aluminum. You can see green lasers not red and my daughter wanted a red and Class II is the only safe level for all of them. I have handheld Class IIIa and Class 4 lasers (900F) and so I know what I am talking about what is quality and what is crap stapled together.Stay away from this product not even good use for a cat as the structure is so poor to hold.
