Great Mount

by D. Holovacko from South Amboy, NJ United States on 2009-03-29
After I stopped looking at the instructions the installation was easy. It seems very secure holding my panasonic ae3000u projector. I've heard complaints about adjustment screws not being versitale enough, but i found them to be quite adaquit. The extension tube made it seemingly flush mounted to my drop ceiling with its 1 inch intervals. It can extend from 12-18 inches using the extension. Overall i would say it well worth the money.

Excellent mount

by Barry A. Hudson from Lakewood, CO USA on 2008-12-26
This mount is secure and offers a lot of ways to mount a projector. It is very adjustable and has good fine adjustment to precisely match your screen. It's quite easy to install with average skills.

great price

by Bronson Brown-devost from on 2008-12-20
This is nice and sturdy, with lots of fine tuning option. The screw that keeps the projector from swiveling left to right is not that great and there is a little play in the fittings.

It's a mount. It works. It's sturdy. I think it was pricey but I needed it for the projection unit.

Super product, awesome customer service

by Prabal K. Bhattacharya from San Jose, CA USA on 2010-08-31
I needed this for my Epson 1080 projector. The mount is very well built, and the instructions, albeit sketchy, are easy to follow. The 12" arm creates a whole range of possibilities including doing a wall mount in the shelf style (projector NOT upside down) which is what I decided to do. I definitely recommend this. Also this review would not be complete if I did not mention the customer service at Vantage Point. While doing the install I realized that it'd help me to create a more secure connection with an additional arm. Normally this requirement is satisfied by combining the short and long arms (3 of each are provided in the box). In my case I could only use the long arms due to the size of the projector. When I called the customer service, the person immediately offered me to send the extra arm free of cost (including free shipping!) and patiently explained all the different ways I could use the product. It is customer service of this nature that makes one become a lifelong customer of a brand or a company. I'd definitely go back to their products for my future needs.

Great mount

by erewrwerrew from alameda, CA United States on 2010-08-11
Great Product! I was looking for a projector mount to place it on the wall and this one gets the job done very well. feels very solid and stable. it takes a little to time to get the angle for for picture to look good but over all its a great mount.

Versatile, Stable, Easy to Install

by HTBK from San Francisco, CA USA on 2010-07-06
As the title says, this mount has everything I was looking for. It is highly adjustable in every direction, making it very easy to angle the projector to exactly the position you need. It feels very secure, and the instructions were clear enough that it was simple and quick to install. No additional tools required, and unlike the mount that I returned and replaced with this one, the pieces come separated, not pre-screwed together so tightly you risk stripping the screwheads just to take them apart before you can even get to the assembly.Having the projector ceiling mounted is great for saving space and to get the full theater effect. It's far more convenient than setting the projector on a shelf or end table. Just make sure that you measure twice before starting to drill your ceiling - you'll want to make sure the lens of the projector will end up lined up as near as possible with the center of the screen, and at an appropriate range for your particular projector.I use mine with the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 8100 Home Theatre Projector (V11H336120), and they work together perfectly.

Doesn't work with Viewsonic Pro8100

by M. Stringer from on 2010-06-05
Mount does not include screws that fit the Pro8100. Had to call company and they have to ship me the screws. Should not say "universal" when it's clearly not.

Projector Mount

by lk2bnmaine from Massachusetts/Maine on 2010-05-06
I bought this mount based on a review by someone who said that he had had the same projector that I had (Epson 8100). I use this as a wall mount in the back of my room which I am told I can. The mount should be gear driven as it slips because it is a smooth connection. The set screws do not hold it in place as they should, it still slips and the projector rests against the wall. I've had to readjust my screen to fit the configuration that this mount has decided for me. It states that it will hold projectors weighing much more than mine but It won't even hold my 18lb projector without slipping. I do not recommend this mount.

Not so universal.

by L. Decker from Florida on 2010-03-14
Ordered this product when I ordered a Viewsonic Pro8100 projector so I could mount it. This mount only includes up to a 5mm thread and the Viewsonic requires a 6mm. So after 2 trips to Lowes to get not only the correct screw size but also the correct spacers because of it's design I was a little put off. After getting the correct pieces the projector is mounted perfectly in place. Good product overall but they need to place an * next to Universal.

kmccoy2461 projector mount review

Fantastic product. Easy to follow instructions and perfect for my installation. I was able to adjust my projector not only in depth but in height.

Very good Projector Mount

by G. Baumbach from Rochester, NY on 2009-10-27
This is a very good projector mount. I had a very difficult install ahead of me (low basement ceiling, with a support beam blocking my projector view on the ceiling (I had to mount the project behind the beam to get my 106" image). Needless to say, this was not going to be an easy install to get the image lined up without the beam interfering (and I have a DLP projector with not many placement options and limited zoom).Long story short, this mount worked. I would have liked the three twist screws that connect the projector to the mount to be more flexible without having the projector come loose (which it did a few times). Making the ever so fine adjustments was a bit difficult since I could not get a screwdriver in there being only a few inches below the ceiling. I eventually used a drill bit and vice grip to do the job. Again, this was about a difficult install as you could probably do and this mount did the job. In most people's installs, you can adjust the arms alone and achieve great results...I had to use everything I could do to get this to seat perfectly.I highly recommend the mount and I would be surprised if this couldn't meet your installation needs. Fit and finish is excellent and the mount won't budge once properly tightened (which is good because I do not look forward to adjusting my projector anytime soon).

Good build but pricy for the item.

by Md Kamrul Hasan from on 2009-10-09
I bought this "Vantage Point CGUPM12-B Universal Front Projector Mount - Black" for my Mitsubishi HC6500 Projector and the first impression is it a very small item as compared to the price. A simple Project mount could be delivered way cheaper than this. But the good thing is that it's a good build. Easy to move all direction makes it very convenient for installation and adjustment of the projector to the Media room.

Nothing Special

by Express from on 2010-08-11
This projector replaced my 5 year old InFocus ScreenPlay 4805, and after using it for a month, I don't consider it an upgrade. I have a dedicated theater with 3 level seating, and was waiting for a great deal on a 1080p as a replacement for the 4805 - but I got this Sony for a 'fantastic' price, not too much more than the lamp replacement would have been for the 4805 (The Sony was not anywhere near the list price)- the lamp may have been a better choice. The picture is flat and dull compared to the 480p ScreenPlay - I don't feel any 'Pop' or 'Wow' from the picture - guess LCD has not made as much ground on DLP as I had expected. It is much louder than I hoped it would be, just about as noisy as the ScreenPlay. When I bought this I thought it would get me by another 2-4 years, now I'm hoping for as little time as possible with this unit, and for a similar 'steal' of a price on a better projector. On the positives. It has a bright picture (too bright on low in my Theater, needed much further dimming). The connectivity is decent- the DSub/VGA connector is nice, and comes with a component to DSub cable - allowing you to connect it to most anything with the Composite, HDMI, and DSub inputs. I've got it hooked up with a 30' HDMI cable - the picture is much better over HDMI than the DSUB. It might make an OK 'portable' projector - but it is large.

Great projector for home theater

by Praveen C. Dandamudi from NC, USA on 2010-07-25
I bought this projector last night and I am really enjoying it. Picture quality is good and sharp. I projected this on my apartment wall without any screen, even then quality is good and enjoying movies and tv in big screen. This has HDMI input which is giving good quality of output. Only drawback is it does not have audio, but I connected this to my home theater speakers and liking it. I will post some videos/pics soon.

Excellent home theater projector with portability!

by kk from houston on 2010-07-23
This is a great little projector you can lug around to friends and family to watch movies in HD (720p and 1080i). You don't need a dark room to appreciate the picture since it has 2000 lumens brightness. I only wish it had tiny speakers or some sort of audio pass-through for HDMI since you'll have to find a way to output sound from the source. This proj doesn't have any speakers.

Confusing installation and didn't fit my small projector

by J. Waldrop from Austin, TX on 2010-07-23
I bought this because it said "Universal" but it wasn't quite universal. I have a small optoma projector (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002DUCKNK/ref=oss_product) with only three screw mount holes in the bottom. I found no way to mount my projector and had to return this item.It seemed like a fine product if it fits your machine.

GOOD INEXPENSIVE MOUNT

by Kenneth J. Partridge from Dallas, TX on 2010-05-29
I bought this for my Sony HS60 PJ. Mounted its pretty solid, over a few months I had to tweak the tilt a couple times because of a slamming door or something shaking the ceiling (apartments!) but really it does its job well. For more money you might find one a little more attractive or whatever but really you don't need much more than this unless you are getting into some serious weights. Provided thumbscrews went into the size my SONY had no problem, I'm assuming most PJs use the same size. My only complaint is the screw in cam that you use a rod to insert into and do a final tighten is a bit tedious but not impossible.

great for the price

by Watson from Illinois on 2009-12-24
great price, easy to install - I DID have to purchase screws that would fit my projector for its mounting but for this price, I was not put off.

Vantage Point Projector Mount

by Ryan from The Keystone State on 2009-08-02
This mount arrived at my house only a few days after ordered and it was very well packaged. I use it for my Epson PowerLite S5 in my home theater. It's very sturdy and I feel as though my projector is very secure on the ceiling. My only gripe with the mount is that the screws that came with it to mount it on the ceiling were just too big for my ceiling, but we found alternative screws, so no stars are deducted for that. The screws that were included to attach the projector to the mount fit perfectly. I was extremely pleased when I opened the box and realized that the mount was packaged with three long arms AND three short arms which was excellent for my projector since I needed two short arms and one long arm. The mount also moves in about every direction that you can think of, so if your projected image is slightly off your screen, this feature will help greatly. Thank you Amazon and Vantage Point!

Very Functional

by Steven Summers from Frederick, MD USA on 2009-06-16
This is a great projector mount. I was actually able to install this in our bedroom unassisted just a week after returning home from back surgery. For those of you lucky enough not to have had back surgery this means it was pretty easy to do. The only thing that holds me back from giving 5 stars is the level of thinking I had to do before accomplishing the easy installation. In other words it was easy to install but not quite as easy to figure out how to install. Once I figured out how to fit everything together - the instructions were OK but not phenomenal - it probably took under ten minutes to do the install including aligning the projector. After the installation I haven't had to give it another thought. I will buy another one just like it when I get a projector for the basement.

Everything I Need

by Allen T. Handy Jr. from Warrenton, VA on 2007-12-12
This is my first projector mount, so I can't compare it to other products. But, for a first time user, the mount works beautifully. I am using it to mount a Mitsubishi HC1500 and I have had no problems. The mount is made entirely of metal and feels very sturdy. The assembly instructions are visual but I didn't run into any problems. Installation took about 15 minutes start to finish.

excellent picture

by a movie fan from Orangevale, CA USA on 2007-10-14
I got this projector to replace a Sony Cineza VPL-10 (I think it was designated), which was a superb machine for the price but had a serious annoyance - a noticeable screendoor effect when the camera panned across a homogeneous field (such as sky). Of course, I sit close to the screen, so this probably didn't bother everyone. The picture quality of this projector is astonishing. There is no screen door effect, even sitting 6 or 7 feet from the screen. You almost have to put your nose to the screen to even see the pixels. The contrast is much deeper; even very dark scenes are full of detail, and I have a window in my theater. The projector is indeed extremely quiet, compared to any other I've heard. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it highly. The only downside, I think, is that Sony has retained a rather poor remote, although they now provide an intelligent scanner of input signals so you don't have to cycle through everything (thank you!). There are also some lines above or below SD programming from DirecTV, but only on a few channels. I don't know if overscan controls will eliminate that (I haven't tried because I don't watch channels with bugs anyway).

Wonderful big screen pictures

by K. Godwin from New Zealand on 2005-08-10
This is an older model projector from Sony. Being an older model meant that the local store had it on sale for a fraction of the cost of the latest from Sony. The widescreen images from this projector are fantastic, crisp and clear with no noticable pixelation. Compared to other projectors in this price range this has outstanding features : - side shot, you can have the projector to the side ! - 3 LCD panels for a much better picture - 3-2 pulldown technology for cinema like pictures It also has a very nice remote control that is big and easy to use. If you can't afford the latest from Sony, beg, borrow or steal one of these ! Kevin
