Vehicles rolling out today use halogen bulbs for their headlights. They are bright and standard. However, if you are the discriminating type who always wants the best for your car, you might want to check out cheap HID kits for an upgrade. It is true that many years back, HID technology had prohibitive costs that only elitists can afford. But now with mass production, we can find a cheap HID kit at the price of a pair of sneakers.  What is HID?

 HID stands for high intensity discharge and is the technology that uses gas in the production of light instead of the common bulb filament. When high voltage is passed through an electric arc with xenon gas inside, it heats up the metal halide inside and evaporates it causing very bright light to ensue. This is the reason why HID lamps are 2 or 3 times brighter than most ordinary halogen lamps in the market.  

There is something fundamental about HID. They do not wear out easily. The reason for this is that there is no filament to burn. If you would recall, Mr. Thomas Edison of old - may God bless his soul - used different kinds of filaments and probably experimented on more than a thousand of them because they simply burn out without fail. It is that simple. Once you remove the filament in the equation, you are on to a whole new different plane, my man. All the available kits in the market today, even that cheap HID kit, will outlast all other headlight assemblies hands down even without trying. 

Another thing with this HID is the illumination. Ever wonder what kind of lighting system lights up the football stadium or baseball park so that the players do not have to play in the dark? What about that bright light that caught you by surprise when you were one on one with your childhood sweetheart in the school gymnasium on a lonely Friday night? Yup, you bet it is. High intensity discharge lamp technology did it. It is so bright it is used for a lot purposes. Airports use them to help airline pilots taxi their way in at the dead of the night. And electronic companies use them to give us bright and crystal clear LCD TV and projectors. Its applications are almost limitless. So the next time you get annoyed by the very bright light from the SUV on the opposite lane, it is HID technology to blame. So put it to good use. You can not get yourself some cheap HID kits to enhance the overall appearance of your car and do yourself a favor driving yourself at night with proper illumination. Whether it's the blackout on Main Avenue or it's a heavy downpour during rush hour, a cheap HID kit, albeit a sturdy one, will keep you safe on the road.
